Hints and Allegations, an international online solo painting exhibition by Steven Sickles opens on May 15, and will continue for two months until July 15, 2024.
The freedom of being an abstract painter allows Steven Sickles to deviate from the scheme he first developed. He mixes the acrylic paint with isopropyl alcohol instead of water as he likes to experiment with paint and try to discover new techniques to achieve an unusual look. His painting's titles obscures what he sees on the canvas since he doesn't want his intention to be obvious to viewers as he prefers everyone who sees his artworks to discover what appeals to them.

Artist:
I was delivered by an Admiral in February on the coast of California which makes me something of an Uber-Aquarian.
My history began with parents who believed I was capable of great things without really knowing what form these things might take. I had even less idea. If they were hoping for a Louis Pasteur, they never mentioned it.
Given this amount of freedom to make my own choices, I went to Rhode Island College to major in Fine Art (Not RISD. I was one of six children which made that decision for me). During my education no one thought to mentioned how difficult it would be to live comfortably by painting alone. I didn't have an eye to the future either. I just wanted to do good work. But eventually I went back to school to major in computer science as a way of supporting myself and my painting habit.
After my 30 plus years as a system engineer, I retired in July 2021 which gives me a great deal more time to paint.
