Exhibition Opening | Jonas Hohnke at Das Esszimmer

In his solo exhibition “to the other side”, Jonas Hohnke (Wuppertal/DE) connects the exhibition site both mentally and virtually with a place on the other side of the planet.

Jonas Hohnke is on the trail of the everyday and the supposedly inconspicuous and likes to be seduced by architectural conditions, their banality and even their invisibility. In the resulting works, the work and its surroundings sometimes merge with each other, so that the unrecognisability and visibility only gradually appear in the course of observation.

In his solo exhibition ”to the other side”, Jonas Hohnke poetically connects the exhibition venue in Bonn with a specific location in Melbourne/AUS. Both places are marked by a cloud flag. The connection is created on the surface of a monitor, where both flags can be seen, as a livestream around the clock, as well as in our imagination.
