Atheist United's Atheist Street Pirates have plundered (read: cleaned up) over 1,700 religious propaganda signs hung illegally on public property since 2021. Now we're turning this litter into art... and an excuse to have a good time!
Last year, our event got national media that put atheists in a positive spotlight. We want to go bigger this year, so people see that atheist communities are thriving in California.
This means we want you there for...
- Wine & spirits (donate at the bar)
- Unique art
- Looking at hundreds of corrugated signs (in a cool way)
- Art-making stations
- Free snacks
- Music
- Awards recognizing atheist activists
- Learning how Street Pirates is part of the bigger picture of organizing nonreligious people in SoCal and beyond
Our event is also an Atheists United fundraiser with a goal of raising $3,000 for programs that support atheist community building, hunger alleviation, and advocacy for separation of church and state.
Pirate-themed attire is encouraged, but not required. Limited street parking is available. Please consider taking public transit or carpooling.
Free parking will be made available at Center for Inquiry Los Angeles, which is within walking distance of the venue.
See you there!
