Wild Heart Gallery is pleased to present WINGS 2024, our 3rd annual juried exhibition focusing on flight, birds, and all kinds of winged creatures. Enjoy the array of selected artwork on our art website and learn more about the top winning artists. Mediums ran the gamut from hand-beaded fabric sculpture by the inestimable James Talbot, to traditional and experimental painting, drawing, print making, and more.

Best in Show
Nearing the Light, by James Talbot
35 x 39 x 3 inches (HxWxD), Glass seed beads, stained wrought iron, brass, layered fabric, welded steel armature.

From the artist, "A loose impression of a light-seeking moth gave rise to this wall-hung sculpture. The base is quilted fabric on a warped steel frame, and carpeted with appliqué, wrapped, and densely-fringed beads. Stained wrought iron feelers and hooks grow through glass thickets. The edges are single strands and clusters of bead fringe with hand-colored thread tails, and handmade brass beads bind the clusters."

Overall Runner Up
Re-Tired Raven, by Cindy Chinn
49 x 33 inches (WxH), Recycled Bicycle tires, inner tubes, and parts

From the artist, "The Raven is crafted entirely from discarded bicycle tires and mounted atop an old bicycle rim. This piece, the signature work of the collection, depicts a magnificent raven emerging triumphantly from the tire, reborn and revitalized."
