Call for Artists: Printmaking Studio Rental at Lower East Side Printshop

The Lower East Side Printshop offers artists full access to professional printmaking facilities for independently produced projects. Artists work in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary printmakers. Participants should have experience in the techniques and the equipment they wish to use. Technical assistance is not included in the Studio Rental program, but is available at additional cost.

Studio rental is available on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis. To participate, please either provide a link to your artistic website, or send your artistic resume and a brief letter of intent. There are no application deadlines for any Studio Rental program. Applications may be submitted by email, mail or in person.

Rental fees must be paid in advance. Hourly and Daily Rental are subject to scheduling; please contact us in advance. Artists are required to complete their work, clean up their workspace, and leave the studio by the ending time of their rental.

Basic supplies are provided (newsprint, blotters, solvents, tape, and cleaning supplies) and access to shared tools (squeegees, scoop- coaters, brayers, rulers, etching blankets, and cutting mats). Paper, screens, plates, inks, emulsion and reclaimer must be obtained by the artist (hourly and daily rental includes use of some additional materials).

RATES

MONTHLY RENTAL: $375 per month

24-hour access

Monthly rental starts on the 1st of the month and ends no later than 6pm on the last day of the month. Includes workspace, storage shelf, access to tools and equipment, basic supplies, 20% discount on the Printshop’s Classes, Exhibition and Open Studio opportunities.

WEEKLY RENTAL: $200 per week

24-hour access

Weekly rental may start any day of the week and last for a maximum of 7 days, ending no later than 6pm on the last day. Includes workspace, tools and equipment, basic sup- plies. Storage is subject to availability. Editioning paper is not included.

DAILY RENTAL: $120 per day

10am – 6pm Monday-Friday,

12noon - 6pm Saturday & Sunday

Includes workspace, tools and equipment, selection of supplies such as black ink, grounds, emulsions, reclaimers, tarlatan, specialty plate-making tools. Editioning paper is not included.

HOURLY RENTAL: $20 per hour

10am – 6pm Monday-Friday,

12noon – 6pm Saturday & Sunday

Includes workspace, tools and equipment, selection of supplies such as black ink, grounds, emulsions, reclaimers, tarlatan, specialty plate-making tools. Editioning paper is not included.
