5 Claude Lane Gallery is proud to present "Someplace in Space", a group photography exhibition featuring local photographers Quinn Arneson, Micah Aza, Joshua Cobos, Sean Desmond, JR Doty, Vanessa Maida, Maciej Makalowski, Haris Mesic, Sean Mikula, William Palank, Sarah Rice, Joseph Sanders, Melissa Schilling, Andrea Sonnenberg, Natali Truax, Leo Van Munching, and more. The show will also feature a collaborative installation by Sean Desmond and Amanda Elizabeth Sage.
Revolving around themes of home and space, this exhibit seeks to examine the ever-changing qualifiers we use to define home, identity and belonging. A modern world calls for modern ideas and an extrapolation into the core of our moving identities. Nationalistically we are home in a grand set of lands, Socially and culturally we are home in a subset of barriers and set of identification methods determined by our upbringing and choices, and emotionally we are home based on any or all of the afore mentioned, but with sometimes undefinable heartstring ties to places, people, things.
Please join us for the opening reception on Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 from 6 to 9 pm. The show will be on exhibit through May 26th, 2012.
