Brand new work created from the live model on view at The Well Being, Behavioral Health and Fitness Center.

Grand Rapids, Michigan (June 14, 2014) – More than 300 works created by the 20 - 30 artists expected to participate in the ArtisTTable’s 24 Hour Figure Drawing Event, will be on display directly following the event at The Well Being, Behavioral Heath and Fitness Center. Artists will have been working in all different media over the course of the 24 hour event creating drawings, paintings, collage and sculpture.

Working from the human figure is a mainstay of artistic studies. Artists constantly return to it when they want to sharpen their skills. The art making process is often as much about showing what has been created as it is about the actual creation itself. Because of the uniqueness of this art event, it became important that this body of work created by local artists in a concentrated period of time be shown to the public.

Everyone is invited to come meet the artists and models and see what is sure to be a large collection of figure drawings. Much of the art will be available for purchase.

About the ArtisTTable 24 Hour Figure Drawing Event:
This 24 hour event is the first of its kind that the ArtisTTable has presented. From 5 pm on June 13th to 5 pm on June 14th, artists from around Michigan and beyond will gather in Grand Rapids to draw, paint, and or sculpt the live model. 15 different models to pose in long and short poses during 3 hour shifts.

Over the last year and a half the ArtisTTable has presented figure drawing events in The Netherlands and Michigan. Artists have benefited from the very concentrated and intensive experience of working from the live model for extended periods without interruption.

To make it easy for artists to be a part of the event there were ways to register;  the full 24 hours, eight hours, or for an hour at a time. The ArtisTTable has done everything to make the artists and models comfortable, by providing food, drinks and coffee, so that all all of their energies can go into the art.  Some artists may go home and sleep for a few hours and return, while others will stick around the entire time and take a nap if they need to.

About the ArtisTTable:
The ArtisTTable is an international online art community developed by two artists, Royce Deans of Traverse City, MI and Tali Farchi of Zwolle, The Netherlands.  The ArtisTTable is operated from their studios in the US and Europe and hosts regularly scheduled online juried exhibitions that artists from around the world take part in. The group thrives on the input of artists and art lovers around the globe as they participate in the conversation through their art and social media.
